Name: Avalon
Age: 17
RP Experience: 4 years but I took a break for ½ a year. Now I’m back
Activity Level: I’ll shoot for every day posts, but it really depends on how much homework I have
- The Character -
Name: Aeode (pronounced Ay-o-day)
Order: Guardian
Loyalty: Heaven
Member Group: Angel
Appearance:
A: Angelic Pure Form:
Dainty and frail, Aoede’s pure form gives off a faint silver glow. This form is nearly featureless, simply the outline of a face, body, and wings is present. Usually she is a soft silvery black color, but sometimes, depending on circumstances and her mood, it appears a silvery white. Other than the basic figure of a person with wings, there are no distinct features that can be discerned.
B: Angelic Perfect Form:
In her perfect form, Aeode appears with the body of a human woman, with the exception of the owl-like wings that sprout from her back and the large, yellow owl’s eyes that adorn her face. She has long flowing, white blonde hair that reaches to her waist and silvery black tattoos that scroll down her arms and legs. She wears flowing silver and white robes that cover from her chest to about mid-calf. Around her waist she wears a silvery black belt, from which hangs a dream catcher and a scroll.
C: Human Form:
Face claim: Angela Gossow
Aeode in her human form is a female with long dirty blonde hair that reaches to her chest. She has eyes of the same color as her hair. Her facial features are soft and her skin is a pale ivory color. She wears a very worn leather jacket, a fairly plain white green t-shirt, torn grey jeans, and a pair of combat boots. Her clothes tend to be dark, but artistic. The dream catcher and scroll hang also from her belt, which, in her human form, is a plain black belt with a chain hanging from the side. She stands about 5 feet 3 inches in height and is very petite.
Personality:
Aeode is usually quiet, no matter what form she is in. She keeps to herself and is usually fairly secluded. She has very few angel friends as most of them don’t associate with her. Aeode prefers to stay in her human form and likes listening to music and participating in human activities. Humans fascinate Aeode and especially the dreams of humans. Being the angel of dreams, she takes great interest in human’s dreams.
She spends the time that she isn’t recording and protecting the dreams of man, writing and playing music of all kinds. Music is her only true enjoyment outside of her God given job.
She is friendly and loyal to those she calls friends. She is however, very secretive about herself. She doesn’t like talking about herself unless she has to and no one really knows her very well. She isn’t particularly happy or sad. She is usually in a fairly neutral state of emotion. However, the dreams she watches can affect her mood.

History:
The dreams of man are both great and beautiful, but also terrible. During the Middle Ages when very few records of history and art were kept, God decided to create Aeode to re-inspire the dreams of man. God also created her to give hope to mankind especially in times of warfare and sorrow. She sent many inspirations to many of the great scientists and artists of the Renaissance.
More important than the inspiration of dreams, she was created to record the dreams of man and keep them in balance. Aeode keeps record of the dreams of each human on Earth and keeps track of how they evolve over time, in hopes that each person can fulfill their destiny. However, Lucifer creeps into the dreams of man in order to taint them and twist them. Although Aeode is unable to stop him, she inspires other dreams in people in the hopes of counteracting the dark nightmares Lucifer tries to spread. She is the guardian and protector people’s hopes and dreams.
During recent times, as God has given up hope on the people, her role has become much less acknowledged. Although she still protects dreams of those God assigns her to, she gets fewer and fewer assignments anymore. She intently watches over the few people God has sent her to in the city Chorazin and watches over others there as well, still recording the dreams of man. Aeode still has believes in humanity, but has begun to feel somewhat more useless and sometimes feels as though she has no real purpose in Chorazin or the rest of the world. She believes God sent her to Chorazin to watch the dreams and the events of The Arrangement because he’s given up so completely on the dreams of the rest of mankind. Aeode travels to those who need dreams and gently whispers dreams to them, hoping to inspire hope and show God that all hope is not lost.
Roleplay Example:
Aeode sat on the floor in the corner of the dark bedroom, legs crossed as if in meditation. She glanced around the bedroom. The walls were covered in posters of unicorns and princesses. A pink, flower shaped rug lay in the middle of the floor and the bed sheets were pink with white polka dots. A young girl of about five years old with curly red brown hair and freckles lay sleeping peacefully in her bed. Aeode felt out of place amongst the bright colors as she puller her leather jacket tightly around herself.
Reaching down to her belt, Aeode untied her dream catcher and held it up before her. She gazed through the strands of string that created the dream catcher and at the young child. Slowly, through the dream catcher, the girl’s dream came together in a foggy mist before her eyes.
A tall castle with a beautiful garden came into view. The little girl was there, dressed in a pretty green princess dress with long flowing sleeves and a gold tiara. She was picking flowers and placing them in her flower basket. She sang a little song to herself, not having a care in the world. After gathering up her basket of flowers, she walked through the tall rose bushes to a gazebo. In the gazebo was a table all ready for a tea party. From the other side of the rosebushes galloped a pure white unicorn, who’s mane looked as soft as a cloud. The unicorn came up to the girl and whinnied happily. The girl looked up at the creature and gave it a loving pat on the head. Together, they went into the gazebo. She handed the unicorn the basket of flowers, which he grabbed with his teeth. One by one the girl took the flowers from the basket and placed them in the vase, putting each flower in its proper place.
Aeode heard a loud cracking sound and her gaze immediately turned towards it. A black mist appeared and began to take shape in a large field in the garden. Before she took a moment to see what it was, Aeode ran to the little girl’s bedside. She placed the dream catcher on the end of her bed and ran up to the sleeping child. In her angelic voice, she whispered in the girl’s ear, “Fear not child. An angel watches over you to keep you safe.” She reached over for her dream catcher again and looked through it. The dark form had taken shape too quickly for her to dispel it. A huge black dragon, with wings of darkness, that smelled of death and sorrow had formed from the mist. The blessing Aeode placed on the child kept her safe. The child couldn’t see the dragon, but Aeode still had to enter the dream and destroy the monster. She closed her eyes and immersed her spirit into the child’s dream.
The dragon immediately sensed her presence and headed straight towards her. Aeode braced herself and focused her mind on her creation. With a deep breath she began to manipulate the dream. A silver light appeared before her as the dragon approached. The ground pounded beneath her, causing her to loose her concentration for a moment. That moment was all that the dragon needed to strike. Aeode fell back as a claw ripped through her arm, sending a searing pain through her shoulder. “I need to focus, I can’t fight that thing myself,” she told herself.
She looked around and saw the dragon had fallen back and was preparing to strike again. Taking advantage of it’s momentary pause, Aeode sat in meditation and focused in again. The silver light reappeared and began to take it’s form. It twisted and turned, as it took shape before her eyes. Within moments, the light became a glowing white phoenix. The dragon came rushing at the Aeode, but the phoenix flew in front of her and ripped up a mouthful of scales from the dragons front leg. Taking the opportunity, and hoping to avoid further injury, Aeode pulled out of the dream and opened her eyes again.
She looked through the dream catcher once more. The phoenix and dragon were still fighting. Each had taken severe damage. The phoenix had lost the use of one of its legs and the dragon had a huge gash through its left wing. The dragon was reaching up, desperately clawing at the phoenix who was still flying just out of reach. Aeode glanced away for a moment, and saw that the little girl was still safely drinking tea with her unicorn. All she had to hope for now was that the phoenix could destroy the dragon. Looking back towards the quarrel between the dragon and phoenix, all Aeode saw was a flash of white and heard a horrible wailing sound. The phoenix had swooped in while the dragon had clawed up towards him and cut a giant gash in its neck. Black mist began seeping from the gash and consumed the dragon in a matter of moments.
Aeode fell back onto the floor and sighed. They’d been getting worse. Dreams of mankind were certainly troubled and it was starting to wear down on her. She slowly rose and picked up her dream catcher. She glanced at it again, the dream was back to normal and her job was done. The dream spiraled into nothing and the dream catcher looked, once more, like any normal dream catcher. She tied it back to her belt and slowly rose and walked towards the bedroom door. She grasped the gold doorknob in her hand, but heard something stirring behind her. She spun around to see what the sound was. It was the little girl, her hair in tangles. She groaned, sat u,p and said, “Mommy, is that you?”
“Yes dear, it’s me,” whispered Aeode, hoping the child wouldn’t know any different. “Go on back to sleep, I was just checking on you. Sweet dreams darling.”
“Good night mama,” the child let out with a yawn and lay back under the covers.
Silently, Aeode left the room and headed back home to get some rest and wrap up her wounded arm. Why? Why can’t I be a better fighter? If I wasn’t so weak, I wouldn’t have to conjure up parts of people’s dreams to keep myself safe, she thought to herself as she walked down the dark street. Maybe things would be better tomorrow. Maybe I’ll make a friend or see a dream that isn’t tainted with darkness. Aeode sighed, she didn’t believe either of the things she had told herself. But things are as they are, and right now, she needed to get herself home. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her iPod, shoving her headphones on her head. With her unusually troubled thoughts she quietly walked down the street, hands in her pockets, and music racing though her ears.
