In this thread, one shall find the current guidelines and restrictions for all angels and demons. This list is not permanent, and can and will be updated with addition rules as the Admins feel fit. Angels and Demons have an incredible amount of power in an RP world dominated by humans, and as such, restrictions must be put in place.
BASIC GUIDELINES:
An Angel is a celestial being, created by God at the moment that it is needed to fulfill a function. Some were created specifically to fight the Angels that God knew would fall. Others were created solely to separate and usher souls from the bodies of the dying to their destinations. Fallen or otherwise, Angels still have an ingrained desire to fulfill their function. Whether or not they choose to give in to these impulses, is determined by the amount of will, and individuality the angel possesses.
Fallen Angels by their act of rebellion against God, have exhibited a great deal of will power, and individuality, and therefore are more likely to totally disregard their given duties, no matter who gives them.
Angels however, are likely to follow orders from their superiors no matter the personal risks involved.
If orders come down that seem to contradict your chosen factions stance on The Agreement or the rules in general, do what feels right based on the character you are playing, and let the results play out and see what happens.
Given the temptations to abuse power, and the powers that Angels and Demons are given, more effort is expected on the part of the player. Keeping things to a level that seems normal or fair is essential with these characters.
ANGEL GUIDELINES:
Angels can shift between three forms, and each form has a specific function.
Their first form is the sexless form that they inhabit while in the presence of God, and other Angels. This form is invisible to Humans. Angels cannot interact with the physical world in this form. It is impossible for this form to be killed by mortals or Transfigured Humans, but it can be wounded and killed by other Angels and Demons.
The second form is closer to the corporeal realm, and is easily seen by Humans and Angels alike. This form is the manifestation of the Angels purpose, and is assumed when the Angel is performing its God given duty, or in times of great need. The Angel is able to manipulate the physical world freely in this form. It is impossible for this form to be killed by mortals, but it can be wounded and killed by Angels, Demons, and incredibly powerful Transfigured Humans.
The third form is the most mundane, but the most versatile. In the guise of a Human, the Angel can walk freely among mortals, without drawing attention to themselves as their first two forms would. In this form, they can detect their fellow celestial beings, in the first two forms, where a normal human could not. They are more durable than an average human, and can take a massive amount of physical damage before death. It is highly advisable that any angel or demon revert to his first or second form when this occurs. This is the only form that can be killed by mortal means.
To play an Angel character one should be willing to play a character that will give his life at a moments notice for whatever goal that God passes down to them, either in person, or through their superiors.
DEMON GUIDELINES:
See Angel Guidelines for basic form rules and info.
To play a Demon character one should be willing to a character with no scruples, or moral compass. This is not always necessary, but it is the consensus that demons are the ultimate forms of evil in the universe. Because of this, such characters are expected to act as vile as you can possibly imagine, at least part of the time.
ARCHANGEL GUIDELINES:
Archangels are more powerful than the vast majority of the other Angels. They perform functions that are vastly more important than those entrusted to the lower classes. These characters will be limited, as God placed Azrael in charge, and thousands of Archangels would be overkill. The RP'er will have to prove themselves trustworthy enough to play such a character. The decision will be based on characters profile, RP sample, and overall involvement in the forum.
ARCHFIEND GUIDELINES:
Archfiends are more powerful than the vast majority of the other Demons. When the Angels fell, Archangels did not make up a great percentage of their numbers. Lucifer had to choose the most powerful angels he had available to fill the upper ranks of his command structure. So, while the Archfiends are not equal in sheer power with an archangel, their lack of morals allow them to accomplish goals no Angel would ever attempt. These characters will be limited, as Lucifer placed Sammael in charge, and Archfiends are harder to come by. As with Archangels, The RP'er will have to prove themselves trustworthy enough to play such a character. The decision will be based on characters profile, RP sample, and overall involvement in the forum.
