- The Character -
Name: Israfil (Donar Vadderung)
Order: Seraphim
Loyalty: Neutral
Member Group: Angel
Appearance::
A: Angelic Pure Form: Israfil in his pure form resembles the figure of an old man wizened by time wearing long tattered robes. His face shadowed underneath a wide brimmed hat, a long flowing white beard reaching down to his waist. In his left hand a gnarled and ancient staff. His right eye glows with a gentle blue light the rest of his face hidden in the shadows. Missing his right arm entirely what is visible of his left is pale and luminescent.
B: Angelic Perfect Form: In his perfect form Israfil appears to be an ancient warrior. Clad in archaic bronze plate mail wearing a horned helmet a black cloth patch covering his right eye. Riding upon a massive black as night warhorse carrying a spear, the weapons haft is a silver blue while the head is nearly a foot long. His single eye glows with an eerie luminescence in his left hand he can be seen carrying a crystal sphere that glows with the same luminescence of his eye.
C: Human Form: In his human form Israfil goes by the name Donar Vadderung. He is not very imposing a man in good shape seeming to be in his early fifties. Lean and spare much like a long distance runner but to heavy in the shoulders and arms for that to be all that he did. His hair long and shaggy the color of furious storm cloud. His one visible eye an icy piercing blue, the other covered by a black cloth patch a vertical scar visible. He kept a short neat beard. Normally wearing well-tailored business suits
Personality:
Israfil is the Harbinger of the End. His purpose since time immemorial has been war and bloodshed, this makes his choice during the fall all that more peculiar. He refused his purpose and in that act rebelled himself. He possess a friendly and genial demeanor but this serves only to mask the ruthless and cunning mind hidden beneath. His mind possess a razor focus allowing him to move past that which is immaterial and drive right into the heart of whatever issue he happens to be working on, he is known for making intuitive leaps from place to place his mind working through problems in its own multifaceted way.
A warrior born Israfil was created as a creature of war, his time amongst humanity walking the battlefields a guide to those cast into the forge of war and conflict. While he once enjoyed a good fight as nothing more then that time has hammered that naivety from him. Conflict is the forge in which true strength is cast. Israfil has led his people for thousands of years working at them the way a skilled smith would at his masterpiece, slowly and steadily feeding them into that crucible casting away that which could not survive and forging ever onwards.
Likes and Dislikes:
+ His 'Children'
+ War
+ The Human Genome
+ Loyalty
- Traitors
- Civilians
- The disapproval of his brothers and sisters over his actions
Strengths and Weaknesses:
+ Hound of War - Israfil was born for war, created as the Herald of the End Times his purpose has always been to call the Heavenly Host to war. After his rebellion and refusal of his Father he found himself exiled to the world below forced to walk amongst his Fathers creation. He has carved himself a place in this new world on the battlefield leading men in their endless wars. He has unparallelled experience on the battlefields of man and is more then capable of turning even the worst possible circumstances to his advantage.
+ Master of the Human Genome - The human condition has always fascinated him. He has spent countless lifetimes manipulating family lines across the world in his ambition to raise humans up to something truly worthy of respect. Fascinated by the experiments and theories of Charles Robert Darwin he has continued the mans work for the last few centuries constantly working to elevate his 'children' to the next step of evolution.
- One against Many - Israfil is truly alone in his fight. While he is willing and able to work with his brothers and sisters on both sides of the war neither are willing to trust him. This combined with his refusal to kill any of his family leaves him horribly vulnerable should either side choose to remove him from the equation in Chorazin.
- Love - Despite everything that has happened over the years he still refuses to permanently harm any of his brothers and sister. This leaves him in a dangerous situation, many of his brothers and sisters on both sides of the divide would gladly kill him should he get in the way and any handicap should battle break out could easily end in his death.
History
Israfil was created at the dawn of time, tasked with the horn that would usher in Judgment Day calling the heavenly host to war. Upon completion of this duty he would take to battle himself. But as time wore on he began to question his purpose. He felt that there surely had to be more to existence than simply existing as he currently did. After several hundred millennia this changed when he was given a task on earth. He was tasked along with several others to retrieve dust from the four corners of the world. The task proved to be enlightening for him, for the first time he saw the glory of His creation and he had been inspired by the majesty of it. Upon completing his assigned task he returned to his father the only one to succeed.
His work on earth completed Israfil returned to the heavenly host once more taking up his position at the foot of his father’s throne, waiting for the Beginning of the End. But as time passed he heard the murmurs of discontent among his brothers and sisters. Taking no action he watched as his favored elder brother Lucifer Morningstar began a revolt aiming to usurp the position of their father. Israfil watched in despair as his brothers and sisters took up arms against each other. Unable to bring himself to help either his elder brother or the father he loved with all of his being.
For his inaction during the Fall of Lucifer and his cohorts Israfil found himself exiled from the heavenly host bound to eternally to earth by the very father he would sacrifice his very being for. He watched as his father taking up the dust gathered all those millennia ago to form Adam and Eve, the beginnings of mankind. Israfil watched as the fledgling species slowly began to grow and spread over the millennia, living lifetime after lifetime among them moving from tribe to tribe he slowly began to gain an understanding of humanity their emotions and he realized why they were viewed as his father’s greatest creation.
After countless years spent wandering he came upon a society that had settled, no longer nomadic the Sumerian Empire had adapted, and agriculture became the main source of food instead of hunting and gathering. But with the rise of the Sumerian city stated for the first time mankind made war upon each other. Israfil living as a citizen in the state of Lagash was pressed into military service under the king. Over the generations he continued in this vein every decade or so killing of his newest persona and moving on to a new life almost always one on the battlefield. But as Sumerian slowly died out being replaced by Akkadian he moved on. After several decades of wandering he found himself living in the valleys of Egypt once again serving in the military forces, for the majority of his time in Egypt he found himself protecting the mining expeditions to the Sinai and old Kingdom.
Over time he once again found himself wandering spending time in the city states of Greece he bore witness to Alexander III of Macedon who traveled with his father in the conquest of Greece. Israfil who currently went by the name Leonattus he over time worked his way up in Macedonian society eventually befriending Alexander. He along with several other men eventually served as part of Alexander’s bodyguard, he fought by his side throughout his campaigns as he slowly united his empire and upon his death and hearing that that the Athenians were rebelling led twenty thousand men to reinforce the city. During the chaos of battle he took the opportunity to fake his death once more continuing his travels.
After living several decades in the Roman Empire Israfil found himself serving in the Imperial Roman Army, serving for several lifetimes. Currently living under the name Marcus Liccinius Crassus he had been given command of the left wing of Sulla’s army during the Battle of Colline Gate. A slave by the name of Sparticus had led a successful revolt and escaped with his men into the countryside. Eventually he had been dispatched to bring the man down after the Legions had suffered crushing defeats at the hands of the former slaves. Crassius quickly sent six of his legions to the borders of the region and dispatched his legate Mummius with two legions with orders not to attack. Mummius disobeyed the orders and was soundly defeated. After several more battles all crushing defeats for Spartacus. He finally attempted to negotiate. But things broke down and Cassius led the assault which resulted in a complete and total route. Israfil continued his service to the Roman Empire before growing bored he faked his death in battle moving on to wander once again.
He continued this nomadic lifestyle for centuries occasionally stopping to for a few decades in one location or another eventually finding himself as a soldier in The British Empire at the height of its power under King George the third. He fought in the American Revolution watching as tactics and strategy evolved with the changes in technology. He watched great men rise and fall and he once again experienced the horrors of war, as men died in numbers that he had never before seen.
The Revolution had changed him, he knew that. He had seen the best and worst of mankind, he had watched as comrades in arms died by the hundreds men he had grown to know. After the war he dropped off the map living in the Americas exploring the new continent and again time passed.
In the year 1914 he found himself living in the nation of Germany. As the First World War began he found himself once more on the front lines, the invasions of Belgium, Luxembourg, and France. He fought and again he watched as men died in the hundreds of thousands. As the war concluded he left that life behind once again making his way to America, living a simple life as a factory worker. Then the Second World War broke out and he found himself drafter. He was one of the first off of the boats on D-Day he fought and again he died. Moving onwards back to America once more fighting in countless battles leaving countless personas behind he knew what he was what he had been for millennia, a hound of war.
When the Arrangement began he was surprised for the first time in millennia he found himself in the presence of his father and brothers. Even with everything that had happened his stance on his actions had not changed. He still refused to take up arms against either his elder brother or his father. As the Agreement was made Israfil once more found himself back in the city of Chorazin. This time under the name Donar Vadderung, he had already laid the groundwork for his newest venture. Monac Securities a privately funded military force. Over the years Monac Securities built up a reputation, they were not a security firm such as Vakarian or Citadel. They were the Hounds of War.
