Name: Jasten
Age: Twenty
CBox Name: Jasten
RP Experience: Ten Years
Activity Level: Always
Name: - Bezaliel, Demon of Shadows
Order: Grigori
Loyalty: Hell
Member Group: Demon
Appearance:
Angelic Pure Form:
Bezaliel appears as a shadowy robed figure. He is semi-transparent, though this is barely noticable unless one takes a real close look at him. His features are all shrouded in just enough shadow that they cannot be made out, no matter what angle he stands at, nor how much light is shone on him. Bezaliel's eyes are in stark contrast to this, at least on occasion, as they flare with bright white lights when under stress. At his side, he carries a sheathed sword which no one has ever seen him draw. On his belt dangles a book on a leather strap, the inside of which no angel has ever set eyes upon. Neither the book nor the sword were present on his fall, and only appeared a few years after, which has caused much speculation among both angels and demons alike.
Angelic Perfect Form:
In his perfect form, Bezaliel appears as a cloaked, hooded, and armored human figure. He stands at around 7', looking over the average human. His cloak is pitch black, and ripped and torn at the bottom. Bezaliel's face is covered by an armored mask, with matching armor covering his chest. His hands and forearms are clad in gauntlets, and bound in black leather. A great belt goes around his waist, with a large, bronze colored buckle across the front. The sword remains sheathed at his side, the long blade still has not been seen in use, even in this form. The book also makes a reappearance, usually held in one of his hands, or, rarely, slung on a strap over his shoulder. Again, neither item was present until a slight time after his Fall, and are treated with great suspicion.
Any who gaze on this form can sense sorrow and despair fill Bezaliel. Despite his sinister appearance, innocent mortals who gaze upon it feel peace and safety rather than fear or terror.
Human Form:In his human form, Bezaliel appears as a tall human male, standing at 6'1". With short brown hair, eyes to match, and facial hair cut either short or gone entirely, he puts on a rather clean cut appearance. Though considered handsome, his is not a face that can easily be recognized in a crowd, a trait that is incredibly useful in his line of work. When it comes to attire, he wears what he needs depending on the situation. As a one demon Intelligence gathering team, this could be rags fit for only the poorest of beggars to suits made by his commander, Sammael's, personal tailor. He has a preference towards his fine suits, one of the few interests he shares with his boss.

Likes / Dislikes:
Likes:
- Humankind - Though the reason he fell from grace in the first place, Humanity is something Bezaliel has always loved dearly. Ever since he saw them milling about on Earth trying to survive, he's been drawn to their kind. They are God's most perfect creations, after all.
- Italian Food - Bezaliel has tasted cuisine from all across the world, throughout time. For centuries, his favorites were the dishes of Germany, until his comrade Mara introduced him to Italian food. He's never looked back.
- Screwdrivers - Though he must endure copious amounts of snide comments above his tastes from his boss, Bezaliel's drink of choice is the screwdriver. Yes, he enjoys fine wines, and even the Scotch that Sammael is never seen without, but he always comes back to screwdrivers.
- Hockey - Humanity is absolutely genius. Whoever invented this lovely game should have been a Saint, as far as Bezaliel is concerned.
- Shadows - Come on, its literally in his name. Bezaliel prefers the shade over the light. Amusingly enough, he prefers day over night, due to the high concentration of shadows that spawn from sun compared to moonlight.
Dislikes:
- Assholes.
- Sinners.
- His predicament.
- Bright light.
- Being proven wrong.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths:
- Shadow Walking. (Bezaliel can disapear into a shadow, only to reappear instantly at another shadow. However, he can only use this ability if he can see his intended destination.
- Enhanced Senses. Even compared to other angelic beings, Bezaliel has overdeveloped senses, due to his being a Watcher.
- Leadership. He was once the 13th leader of the two hundred fallen Watchers. He commanded the ten angels under his leadership with great skill, and ensured they were successfull when fullfilling their functions.
- Intelligence. While a greater angel overpowers him when sheer power is the only thing in play, Bezaliel can hold his own against even high level warrior angels, through his above average intelligence. He has studied the art of war, and knows many of the techniques employed by combatants.
Weaknesses:
- Light. Concentrated light can render him nearly defenseless. He can walk through sunlight without being hindered, while spotlights, angelic light, ect, can harm him.
- Low Power. Though a leader of the Watchers, he was not a high ranking angel, being essentially the angelic version of a Sergeant. Because of this, his overall power is nothing compared to the likes of an archangel. He does, however, stand at the top of the lowest tier, so easily can steamroll angels weaker than him.
- Love. Love was the reason he fell into this mess, the reason he fell from grace. Humanity had enthralled Bezaliel since the begining of his existance, and he has fallen for mortal women on a few known occasions.
Personality:
Pure Form: In his pure form, Bezaliel is a calm, collected individual, who speaks only when the need strikes him. His purpose being to watch, has made him an excellent listener, and he is capable of picking up on even the smallest of changes in a person's voice or body movements. As a result, he has a habit of making insightful comments where others completely flounder, a trait which has led him to making several connections throughout the hosts of Hell. Despite this trait, he's annoyed quite a few people that he's talked to, as the times he does open his mouth tend to end with him mentioning the folly of most demons' actions. Like most demons, he is naturally rebellious, however he does not find much common ground with most of his comrades, considering their entire self righteous crusade against Heaven to be ridiculous. Bezaliel despises God in his own way, but would rather talk with his former friends in the Heavenly Host then fight them if he could. Still, he is not above drawing his blade when he needs to, as shown on the several occasions he's had to kill his former comrades.
Perfect Form: In his perfect form, seemingly all sense of personality has been removed from Bezaliel. He never speaks in this form, whether because he is unable to, or that he just chooses not to has not become clear yet. He is living embodiment of the act of surveillance in this form, and is able to pick up on near-every detail he comes across. In this form, Bezaliel is unusually helpful for a demon, however, this is justified by the reason for his Fall. He can be found leading the defenseless to safety, bringing the injured to healing, and the lost to their destinations. On the other hand, he can be utterly spiteful and twisted, leading seemingly random people to their deaths and destruction. Most of these people are extreme sinners, though others seem to be nothing more than innocent bystanders.
Human Form: In his human form, he is generally similar to the way he acts in his pure form. He is generally more cheerful and outgoing in this form, but his forte for listening and seeing still remains. A bit of sarcastic wit is thrown into the mix here, due to his constant interaction with humanity. All in all, he is a kind hearted man, though still willing to do anything necessary to accomplish his goals. He attempts to minimize human casualties in his actions due to his love for this creation of God, and will go out of his way to save those in trouble if need be.
In all forms, despite any personal feelings on the matter, he is supernaturally compelled to follow Sammael's orders. This is due to Lucifer binding Bezaliel's will to Sammael at the beginning of the Arrangement, as punishment for Bezaliel attempting to slay him. His respect for the singlemindedness of his cause and the attempt at killing a foe he had no true hope of defeating led Lucifer to spare his life, and request that Bezaliel try again when he felt he was ready. Until that day, however, he is forced to obey Sammael's commands the best he can. Bezaliel constantly attempts to circumnavigate the programming, especially when ordered to do things he is morally opposed to, but in the past two years he has accepted his fate and has stopped trying so hard to resist. Indeed, though he hates the idea of it, he has found working alongside Sammael somewhat enjoyable, regardless of the archfiend's demeanor.
History:
Created almost directly after the Fall, Bezaliel was originally tasked, along with two hundred of his brother angels who were created for the same purpose, to watch over humanity and ensure their safety, without interfering too much. At first, all was well, and they fullfilled their function loyally, without fail. The Fallen were still recovering from their defeat, and so the Watchers were given little in the way of opposition. However, one day, that all changed.
Samyaza, lord of the Watchers, and their top leader, began to gradually become corrupted by the whispers of Lucifer, who had seen the Watchers and known they were vulnerable due to their close association to the humans. From Samyaza, the corruption spread to a number of other Watchers, and eventually, those who had become corrupted began to lust after the women of the humans. Bezaliel himself had not been subjected to the corruption, however, he had begun to find himself falling in love with a beautiful woman of the humans.
Eventually, Samyaza and the corrupted Watchers chose to go forth and fornicate with the women they lusted after, to fullfill their wishes, and, by extension, Lucifer's will. Bezaliel decided to follow his brothers, as it allowed him to meet the woman he loved and make her his own. The Watchers swore an oath, and so they decended upon Earth.
Eventually, Samyaza decided that it would be wise if they were to educate the humans, to further their developement. No one could see the harm in it, and so they taught the humans things like sciences, war, and farming. However, these were forbiddon to the humans by God Himself, and so the Father looked down upon Earth to see why His sons had chosen their path. Finding the humans far beyond the potential He had anticipated for them, as well as the Nephilim, a race of giants fathered by the angels, God cast all of the angels, including Bezaliel, into Tartarus.
This imprisonment was not to last long, however. God sent the Great Flood to cleanse the land of the sin the Watchers has sown, and instructed Noah to create an ark to keep life alive. After the Flood, God released ten percent of the angels kept in Tartarus free, to act as demons until Judgement Day. They swore their fealty to Lucifer, and so began their work.
One by one, however, the Watchers who had been let out of Tartarus began to die, murdered by unknown hands. Eventually, only Bezaliel, and Samyaza himself, were left. It was then that Bezaliel revealed himself as the murderer of the other Watchers, and he slew Samyaza after a battle that raged for twenty days and twenty nights. Following his victory, Bezaliel turned himself over to Lucifer, to be punished for killing his demons. Lucifer, however, rewarded Bezaliel, impressed by the Watcher's skills.
Years past, and Bezaliel was called to Chorazin, to hear the announcement that Lucifer and God made. Sucked into the arrangement against his will, Bezaliel was given to the side of Hell under the command of the archfiend Sammael. Sworn to serve Sammael for the entire Arrangement, Bezaliel has worked in the city for nearly twenty years. However, while he works for Hell, officially, he secretly has his own agenda, something which Sammael has become aware of. Because of this, Bezaliel is the first on his list of canidates for guarding the Lifeline.
As a human, Bezaliel masquarades as a soldier of fortune bouncing from contract to contract, firm to firm, in order to help gather intel for Sammael. While he doesn't fully trust Bezaliel's motives, he knows the Watcher will stay loyal so long as his oath demands it, and he knows his skill at gathering information is excellent.
